Detroit files are matched on the software version in the module. Here is where that number lives.
In DiagnosticLink
DDDL reports the software version directly. This is the quickest route if you already have the truck connected.
In WinOLS
Open the read and find ROM. The number below the ROM number is the software version — something like 13.5.0.0.
Why it has to match
A2L description files are built against one software version. Load one against a different version and the names it supplies point at the wrong addresses — worse than having no names, because it looks right.
