ECU Checksum Service: Send a Modified File, Get It Back Corrected
Send us a modified ECU file, the checksum gets recalculated, and you download a corrected copy — your original upload is never altered, renamed or overwritten. You find out whether your file can be processed before any credits leave your balance.
What the ECU checksum service does
You edit a file with your own tools. The service takes that edited file, recalculates the checksum so it validates, and hands back a patched version as a new file. Nothing inside the calibration is changed on our side — the correction is the checksum, and only the checksum.
Work is paid for with prepaid credits, deducted per job.
The order of operations
This is the part worth knowing before you upload anything, because it runs in a different order from most file services:
- Upload the modified file.
- The system reports whether it can handle that file.
- If it can, you accept the terms.
- Credits are deducted.
- You download the corrected file.
If the file is not something the system supports, you are told at step 2, and no credits are spent finding that out.
What it will not do
- It does not edit calibration content. Checksum correction only.
- It does not touch your original. Every job writes out a new file; nothing you upload is renamed or overwritten.
- It does not accept files outside the supported list. If your ECU family is not covered, you get a straight answer rather than a maybe.
- Credits already spent on a completed job are not returned.
Separately, and worth stating plainly because it comes up: files.vietdiesel.com does not write custom calibrations to order, does not flash anything to your vehicle, and does not provide installation support. You match the file to your ECM, and you do the flashing with your own equipment.
Which ECUs are supported
The supported list lives in the catalog rather than in an article, because it changes. Check the service page for the current set before you plan a job around it — matching your ECM or part number against what is listed is on you, and we do not confirm fits for a specific truck.
Pricing and payment
Prices are shown per service on the site, in USD, and are paid through PayPal. Credits are bought up front and drawn down as you use the service.
Other file tools
Alongside checksum work, there are paid tools for converting between file formats, identifying a file you cannot place, and opening locked files. None of them are free — every tool run costs credits, same as a checksum job.

Email is answered within 24 hours. Anything involving an order that was paid but not delivered, an expired download link, or a file that failed processing goes to a human rather than being guessed at, so include your order number or the email you ordered under.
